Service area · Tiki Island, Texas
Tiki Island was built in the 1960s by digging canals and raising the land with the fill, and its streets still carry names like Bora Bora, Maui and Tahiti. I’m Jen Duke. If you’re raising kids on the water here, I photograph maternity, Fresh 48, newborn and family sessions so you have real pictures of these years, with mom and dad in them.
Newborn sessions happen in my natural-light home studio in Richwood. Fresh 48 can be at the hospital or at home, and family sessions can be at your home or outdoors. You’ll get a digital gallery to download, share and order prints from.

Local to Tiki Island
Tiki Island is a village in Galveston County, incorporated in 1982. It had 1,106 residents in 2020, up 14.3% from 2010, and about 70% of its area is water (Wikipedia). Here is how village life can shape the photos you plan.
The village mayor lists Easter egg hunts, a Halloween Carnival, Fourth of July celebrations and golf cart races among Tiki Island’s yearly events (Village of Tiki Island). Snap the same costume or Easter basket photo on your front steps each year. Side by side, they show how much the kids changed.
The mayor calls fishing one of the island’s best features (Village of Tiki Island). A first fish or a first time on the dock is worth a photo. Get down to your child’s eye level and wait for the grin instead of asking for a smile.
The eastern half of Tiki Island is zoned to Texas City ISD and the western half to Hitchcock ISD (Wikipedia). Either way, a yearly first-day photo in the same spot, holding a sign with their grade, turns into a keepsake fast.
